From the Big Island to the big city, Aaron Kai brings the vivid colors and vibrant culture of his native Hawai’i to life with his signature wavy motif and pop art style.
Drawing inspiration from his heritage and Hilo surf culture, Aaron’s collection honors the natural beauty and vibrant culture of Hawai’i with a bold pop art style and vivid colors. Featuring the signature “wavy” motif that began as a classroom doodle and has since made its way to murals and exhibitions around the world.
Behind the Artist
Aaron works across a multitude of mediums and has shared his creativity and art through collaborations with well-known fashion labels, but his favorite has always been murals, where his talent can be shown larger than life. Influenced by the likes of Herb Kane, Keith Haring, and Takashi Murakami, Aaron's bold style and vivid colors honor the beauty of his native Hawai'i.
Always Look Forward
Aaron’s advice to young creatives, “Imua!” which means “always look forward” in Hawaiian culture. Life is too short to dwell on the negative. Focus on the positive and don’t ever doubt yourself.
